Understanding Anti-Aging Human Growth Hormone

J D Dean

Scientists have found during extensive experiments that growth hormone and insulin related growth factors, estrogen for women, as well as testosterone for men have all shown decreases during the aging process.

Recent studies involving mice have shown that the ones who were proven to have deficiencies in the growth hormones and were given supplements showed a significant decrease in their life span. This “new science” involves complicated processes, and there are many important points to consider when trying to understand the anti-aging human growth hormone plan and why it is being marketed to you.

In order to understand an anti-aging human growth hormone plan, we must first learn what a human growth hormone is. A human growth hormone or HGH is not a steroid. Growth hormones are actually created by the body in your pituitary gland to stimulate growth in humans and animals, and are also known as somatropin or somatotropin.

The human growth hormone is an anabolic hormone and very simply builds it in mass. This is why steroids which cause muscle growth are called anabolic steroids and could easily be confused with human growth hormones. A person’s natural height increase is the best known effect of a growth hormone, but it is also known to generate other metabolic functions including bone strengthening and calcium regeneration and retention.

Human growth hormones also help to create a solid nitrogen balance in the body by increasing the body’s synthesis of protein. Your body’s ability to synthesize protein is essential to function properly and build much needed muscle.

Many people out there will advertise on the internet, the benefits of human growth hormone replacement therapy and it’s relationship with anti-aging. Like many websites promoting prescription drugs to cure all of your ailments, it will suggest replacing your estrogen and testosterone and providing you with bountiful testimonials that claim a “better quality of life”. It will often read that you would be “foolish” to pass up HGH therapy, and that taking a HGH will improve the quality of your life at middle age and onward.

The premise behind such hype suggests that the human growth hormone level in people decreases with age, and replacement or supplementation is necessary and beneficial for people in order to stop or otherwise reverse some aging effects. There is, however, no long-term scientific experiments that have proven the positive results such websites boast. It is instead believed by the majority of the medical community that the body’s normal growth is the best process. Do not be fooled by these websites.

The American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists does not recommend the use of HGH in an anti-aging program at all and cites several case studies done on both mice and men that show negative impacts on the body that result in much shorter life spans.

Do not fall victim to someone promoting a plan that has yet to be proven, but rather consult your medical professional and get the best advice from a more appropriate source.
