If you're only starting out tanning you need an accelerator, not a bronzer
a bronzer when youre starting will turn you orange, wait till you have your base color
one of the girls that works there should be able to reccomend you an accelerating lotion

lotions at the salon usually cost from $30-$100, you can get em online on amazon for cheaper, but i don't know if its the same quality / reliability / etc.

to get your base color when starting out, you should go every other day for a few weeks
then you can switch to twice a week to maintain it
and remember to upgrade beds every once in a while

Can't deaf people feel some loud sounds?

I was just watching the trailer for "Copying Beethoven", and at the part of it when he gets a standing ovation, he doesn't turn around - as if he doesn't hear anything. (which he doesn't, he's deaf), but won't someone, especially someone not distracted by sounds, feel vibrations in the air through your skin enough to know when there is a roar behind you?

Someone who is expert in the physics of sound waves may be better able to answer this, but this is my thought....

Imagine yourself standing in the ocean. There are gentle sets of waves rolling in. As a wave rolls in, you may feel the rise and fall of the water, but you may not sense any real change in pressure on your body. However, if a rogue wave comes in quickly that crashes into you, you feel it.

Sound waves, I would imagine, would have a similar effect. You may not notice the waves that rise and fall slowly, but a sudden percussive wave would be more noticeable.

What is the trick to making a black and tan?

I keep trying to make a black and tan. I pour the Bass in, then pour the Guinness over the spoon but it keeps mixing.What in the world am i doing wrong?

Spoon floating is tricky. Make sure to rest the spoon on the glass so that the tip of the spoon is actually touching the inside of the glass. This causes the liquid to run off the spoon and down the side of the glass without disturbing the bottom liquid too much. If you're having trouble, try pouring very slowly. I use this same method to spoon float liqueurs when making pousse cafe. If you're pouring draught Guinness, they actually provide a special spoon to help make Black & Tan, Black & Blue, etc. Otherwise just be patient and try to find what works. One more note. You can spoon float almost any liquor/liqueur as long as there's at least 10 proof difference between them, with the higher alcohol content on the top and lower alcohol content/syrupy/creamy liquid on the bottom.

Has anyone ever used Fiji Blend Shades of Darkness, and if so, how does it work, does it streak, etc...?

It will only streak if you have really light skin, if you are dark already and just going for the next level you should be just fine. It works by adding a dye to your skin and inducing your skin to make some of it's own pigment.

30 spf sunscreen or moisturizer with spf 45?

im on retin-a (at night) and duac gel (daytime). my skin is excessively oily and i have cystic acne. i am also taking the birth control microgestin (my acne might be hormonal, says OB-GYNE). i was advised to use sunscreen on face bec. of retin-a use. i bought aveeno sunscreen for the face with spf 30 (yellow bottle/tube), and i also bought neutrogena healthy defense moisturizer with spf 45. i dont know which to use, the one that acts primarily as sunscreen but lower spf, or the moisturizer but has a higer spf? i dont know if i need a moisturizer bec. my skin hasnt been drying out unlike other people's experience with retin-a. (i repeat, my skin is still oily)ive tried using both alternately but havent broken out so far. but i tan easily (i dont think i burn, i am a medium-complexioned, filipina)thanks for any input!

I would suggest the moisturizer because it carries a higher spf which means it will lower your chances of any infections or side effects from being in the sun. Although your face may not be drying out, the moisturizer can still help in combating your oily skin making it more healthier.

Please help! tanning issues!?

I use Swedish Beauty Hot Amaretto. Can I apply that tanning lotion to my face? and i would like to know if that is a good lotion. also i just started using it and i was wondering how long it would take to get a dark tan?(i myself tan pretty easily but am, at this moment, pale) Please i would like to have people that actually go to an indoor tanner to answer this question, thanks!

I own a tanning shop so will help as best I can.
You should start with buying a tan accelorator, it brings the melanin to the surface of your skin, preventing dryness, speeds up your tanning thus saves you time and money. A good one will cost around £30, I'd recommend Ambrosia once you're used to tanning or Get Dark for when you begin, as its cheaper and just moisturises and speeds up your tanning slightly, but as its cheaper it won't be the best. Start with 4 minutes a time TWICE a week for FOUR weeks, after that, up it to 6 minutes twice a week for another four weeks, then just top it up after that with one weekly 6 minute session. Remember to tie and clip your hair back, wear Winkies, use wet wipes after to take the cream off and also take a deodorant spray with you because you will smell. Anyone that says go on every day is a total idiot, also anymore than 4 minutes at the start will fry your skin preventing you from tanning for another 2 weeks. If you do burn, stay away for at least that amount of time. The assistant on the shop front should help you with all this so don't worry about not remembering.
