Realistic corpse makeup?
It's not makeup advice I need so much as sources for what I should make myself up as.
Most people simply whiten their face and put dark circles around their eyes, but being an an absolute stickler for details, this is not good enough for me.
I've looked at wikipedia's entry on the decaying process, but it's not informative enough. Does one really turn green? How dark does the skin around the eyeballs get?

We all die in different ways so we all decay differently as well. What the pro make up artists do (as another answerer has said) is look at images of actual corpses. Think of how your "character" has died, did you drown, were you stabbed to death, slit throat. The internet is pretty sick place and there are tons of websites where you can find accident photos, crime scene photos, autopsy pics...Rotten.com is...nice. Vomit inducing but...yanno, good for..research.
If you don't feel like looking at pics of actual dead people, and I don't blame you. Look up "Zombie Walks" you'll see tons of photos from people dressed as zombies and it's not always pale face and dark circles some of them really go all out.
